Fish.Net is a small, happy and busy technology company
in Saddleworth whose work encompasses websites, e-commerce,
databases, networks, and other aspects of communications,
Internet and IT for businesses.
Saddleworth is on the western slopes of the Pennines,
halfway between Oldham and Huddersfield, within easy
reach of Tameside, Rochdale, Manchester and the west
Yorkshire towns, and less than 15 minutes away from
the M60 &M62.
We are currently recruiting
for the following positions: |
Are you a software developer/programmer able to develop database
applications, e-commerce and on-line applications? Do you have experience
of SQL, .NET,
ASP,
PHP? If you
have these skills, and can communicate clearly and coherently with customers,
suppliers and within your work environment, then Fish.Net could be looking for you!
Software applications are typically based around a back-end SQL server and deliver an
effective, attractive and intuitive user interface. They are a mix of stand-alone applications
for the Windows platform using .NET, and on-line applications for delivering data and
e-commerce solutions via the Web using PHP,
AJAX, ASP.
As well as software development, the role will also involve the installation, configuration
and support of the associated servers and their operating systems and services, and customer
contact and liaison. There is the opportunity to provide an active input at all stages of
the development process, from customer requirements to final installation and handover, and for
you to grow to take on any element of the software development process.
Ideally you’ll be degree qualified with software experience gained from the delivery of
working practical designs. You’ll have good knowledge and understanding of database programming
and user interfaces, with the ability to understand how to translate real-world user activities
into a database-driven application. We have an immediate requirement for development using .Net
and SQL. You will have a good understanding of SQL and demonstrable experience of programming,
preferably in .NET, ASP, PHP, or Perl. As a skilled programmer, we will expect you to be able
to acquire and develop new programming skills as required.
You’ll need good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage
customers, projects and timescales.
We will expect you to present examples of your work to date, with examples of design
information or source code used in the development process. This may be from either project
work or through employment.

Computer Systems Engineer required, to work as part
of a team, providing Systems and Technical development,
configuration and support to our customers.
You will have hands-on experience of computer and IT
system configuration with a good knowledge and understanding
of server based systems, networking and Internet protocols.
You should have good verbal and written communication
skills, as you will be working closely with customers
to develop their IT and technology business requirements.
